Hello! I’m Eleanor Warren-Thomas, a research scientist interested in the difficult trade-offs we negotiate in biodiversity and environmental conservation.

I currently hold a NERC-IIASA Collaborative Research Fellowship at Bangor University, Wales, working with Dr Isabel Rosa and Prof. Julia Jones, and collaborating with the Ecosystem Services and Management program at IIASA. My current work focuses on land-use modelling and tropical forest restoration scenarios, but I have also done plenty of field ecology.

I have previously worked as a Research Associate at CEH Bangor and as a post-doc at the University of York with Professor Jane Hill. I conducted my PhD research with Professors Paul Dolman and David Edwards at the University of East Anglia, UK.

Take a look at my research page to find out more about my projects and publications. For news articles about my work on biodiversity and rubber plantations, as well as some blog posts, check out the blogs etc. page.

The photos page is full of images from research trips to Asia and the Americas… posted up so that they finally see the light of day!

Thanks for looking, and do get in touch if you’d like to find out more…
